Nano Coatings: The future of paint protection!
There are three basic levels of protection you can add to your vehicle's factory clear coat, namely wax, a sealant or what's new and being referred to as Nano Coatings.
Wax is old technology. It looks good but lasts days or a few weeks at most.
Sealants are considerably better. They can last upwards of months. Some people don't care for the look a sealant gives the paint, although that is a personal preference.
The problem is both waxes and sealants can be removed by solvents and even strong soaps like dish soap. Something better was needed and now it's here!!
Nano Coatings. This is the newest, cutting edge technology that has been introduced to the paint protection industry. I have tested many different products and versions of these products and I stock and recommend several of them at different price points to fit every budget:
Coatings for every budget!
I am offering three different price levels for the coatings:
$500 coatings (a few to choose from like Fenylab Ceramic or CQuartz regular) that will last at least a year, probably two with proper maintenance.
$1000 coatings (either CQuartz Finest Professional) or Feynlab Self Heal Lite
$1500 coating...brand new CQuartz Finest Reserve. This is the best coating you can get for paint...period!
Note: All 3 packages include the following:
1) Comprehensive Wash and chemical decontamination
2) Clay bar decontamination
3) Single, gloss enhancing 1 step paint polish
4) Paint coating applied to paint, head and tail lights, side and rear glass, wheel faces
For an additional fee:
The wheels can be removed, the inside barrels and brake calipers coated and then re-installed and torqued to factory spec. This will range in cost from $100 to $200, depending on what coating is used.
Brand new for 2017! The first self healing paint coating. From Fenylab, it's called Self Heal Lite. What this coating will do that NO other coating is capable of doing, is when it gets small scratches in it, they can disappear if they are subjected to heat. Parking the car outside in the summer for a day will do it. A heat gun to the affected area is also a very quick and effective way to remove the scratches. Now your vehicle can literally stay scratch free for years! Check out the 2 videos above showing how it repairs itself and also its water beading and sheeting ability (hydrophobic qualities). This coating is available for $1000. for a regular sized vehicle. SUV's, trucks, etc are more. This is a labour intensive job and I will need the vehicle a minimum of 2 days.
My entry level Feynlab coating is called Ceramic.
FEYNLAB™ CERAMIC is an ultra-high solids coating that forms a lattice structure of silica, silicon-nitride and silicon-carbide. This gives CERAMIC extreme temperature resistance (up to 750 degrees Celcius), the ultimate scratch resistance, intense gloss, and magnificent hydrophobicity. CERAMIC also provides UV protection, and chemical resistance (acid rain), protecting the paint from fading for many years.
Higher solids coatings are usually much more difficult to apply, and this is a limiting factor when making these products. With FEYNLAB™ CERAMIC ease of application was one of the main targets, and is therefore one of the distinguishing factors of this product compared to our competition. It is exceptionally forgiving as dwell times are up to 25 minutes, meaning the installer can normally coat the entire vehicle and then start the leveling and buffing process, meaning the application can be done in one smooth motion.
A step up in terms of protection and longevity is CQuartz Classic. It is described as:
- Enhanced with Tio2 (Titanium) for increased gloss and reflectivity
- Sio2 (Ceramic) Coating
- Cquartz offers an extremely durable hard glass coat which can help protect against minor scratches, acid rain, bird droppings, corrosive traffic film, tar and harmful UV rays for more than 2 years.
- As well as protecting it also offers a deep, rich gloss with self cleaning properties, making future washing of your vehicle, faster and easier. Cquartz can prevent 50% of light wash marring.
- Ultra hard CQuartz contains ceramic nano particles found within glass, the result is a highly reflective, transparent layer offering incredible durability
- Average thickness of Cquartz layer is between 0.7 µm ~1.5 µm.
- Once applied, Cquartz forms a strong chemical bond, cross linking during the curing process. This offers excellent durability, with a high level of gloss & reflectivity.
- Cquartz active ingredients form a precise and uniformed level layer, giving strong water and oil repellence. Thus preventing stains on the paints surface.
- Resists extremely high temperatures. Feel free to coat engine components, etc that correspond to the materials shown.
This coating will last 2 years (or longer) and will make washing your vehicle easier, add chemical resistance to the paint and leave the surface harder than the factory clear. With the 2 coats of CQuartz Classic that I apply, you are left with a coating thickness of approx 3 microns. What does that mean to you? I describe it as a "sacrificial barrier". Any scratches or swirls or other damage that is inflicted after the coating is applied, must be deep enough to go through the sacrificial barrier first, and then into the paint. Therefore your paint, even if it does get damaged down the road, will not be damaged as much as it would have without the protection of the coating.
Just like with my Americoat and Finest package, the vehicle is washed and decontaminated, and then given a one step polish (Yes, I can improve factory paint!) and then I coat the paint, head lights, tail lights, wheel faces and all the glass except for the windshield. Removing the wheels and coating the inside barrels of the wheels and the calipers is an extra $60 in product + labour time.
This package is priced at $700 for an average sized car. SUV's and pickup trucks will be charged extra according to size. Additional paint correction is billed @ $30/hr.
CQuartz is very versatile. I have even used it on a mahogany wooden speedboat that had been varnished.
Here is a link to that speedboat job:
This is how CQuartz beads and sheets water on a varnished and coated surface. It's every bit as good, if not better, on paint!
CQUARTZ FINEST: Why is this coating the best?
CQUARTZ FINEST (by CarPro) is an evolution in nanotech ceramic paint coatings. In the development of Finest, stronger, further condensed nano particles with better cross linking abilities were designed utilizing a new proprietary nano material to create an extremely tough 3D structure providing a durable, super high gloss coating which protects paint and other automotive surfaces from UV, dirt, brake dust, iron contaminants, bugs, bird droppings, tar, and all sorts of environmental contaminants for two years.
CQuartz Finest offers dirt and water shedding abilities beyond that of any other product available. We don’t make this claim based on only our testing but also on testing reported back to us time and again from professional detailers who have done side-by-side testing with the assumed competition. Time and again in side-by-side testing they find Finest releases water, dust, and dirt faster and more thoroughly than the competition. In other words the side coated with Finest still looks clean and glossy long after other coatings begin to show the dirt and dust.
CQuartz Finest offers more depth and gloss than that of our competitors. Again I don't make this claim lightly but only after the additional feedback from our installers and their clients.
CQuartz Finest is the most exclusive coating available. Unlike other competing nanotech glass coatings, Finest cannot be purchased on the open market and is installed by only CarPro Authorized Finest Installers who have honed their skills so they may polish your paint to the highest level before protecting it with Finest.

Some additional Finest information:
These coatings will seal in the paint exactly as it is, so it's paramount to get the paint in as good a condition as possible. Think of it this way: You have a flat piece of glass you're putting over a table. You will see through the glass any marks that are on the table, so the condition of that table needs to be pristine in order for it to look its best. The combination of professional paint polishing and world class paint protection will provide your paint with the best looking, longest lasting protection possible!

One last thing about the coatings: they can be applied to paint, glass and plastic and are fantastic on wheels. They really help make your wheels easier to clean and maintain. Brake dust is more easily removed with the coating than without and every coating package I offer includes the wheel faces.
